One by one, they all walked to it, resting their hand against the stone, and one by one, they left with different look on their faces then when they came in. When his turn finally came in, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes and reached out to the stone. But the shard didn't answer him.
Confused, he opened his eyes and removed his hand, but the same silence he had met had now invaded the room. Now, they were all staring at him. And of course, he knew what it meant.
